It came in a lot of world error coins. Misaligned die and clipped planchet.

An ugly duckling of a coin.

For best results, please provide weight and diameter with all ID requests. At first glance, this one looks like a possible Maldives coin to me.

Also, by the way, I wouldn't call this an error coin. It is typical for hand-struck coins to be off-center and on irregular planchets.

Im seeing a 1320 (1902) date on the very bottom of this coin. Does not look silver to me... Ok, with Maldives (confirmed in Krause catalog), and is a 4 Lariat denomination KM#-40.2

You can call this anything you want - except not a hand-struck coin. This coin has a rim, and with the clip and how the edges dovetail into the clip, it went through an upset mill to create a Type 2 planchet. This is is a milled coin, albeit, a poor one.

This coin is 4.49 grams. My guess is early 1900s, but searching the Krause is painful when they don't list all the weights for early copper strikes. Even if I get a lead on the country, that will help immensely.

Following up on mrwhatisit's astute detection of the date, and using the weight to look up possibilities in Zeno, this is a Maldives 4 lariyat, Muhammad Imadaddin Iskandar, Male mint, AH 1320 (AD 1902), KM#40.1

https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=95441

May well be crudely machine-struck, with misaligned strike and clipped planchet apparently typical for this type of coin, as shown by several examples in Zeno.

Awesome. Thanks a bunch. This is not my coin, but I am helping a friend with his "world error hoard"...
