Can anybody explain what is going on with this 1995 Noida mint 5 rupee coin?

Looks like the metal that was supposed to be part of the rim has somehow ended up in-field.

@mac, that is an extra-thick die crack from a die that likely only had a few more strikes in it before that hunk sheared off completely and left behind a massive Cud on further coins being struck. Not yet a Cud here though.
