Hello, today I found a 1945 P Jefferson nickel that is missing lower part of date. Rest of coin doesn't look damaged to me, so wondering if this is a mint error? Thanks for any input!

Not an error.
Damage of some sort. It starts at the E in Liberty and goes
around to the 5.

lots of damage here - rim is gone on both sides, top of the devices are sanded down, and then there is the date and liberty, it looks a little grinder action there too.

Ok, thanks for info. I'm new to this and didn't notice other damage. Learning more everyday.

Could have been worn down by a slot or vending machine. Remember, slots were operated by coins only.

The coin is damage. Note the '5' on the date. Weight should be a 5 grams.
