I came across an ebay auction for four very nice Victoria pennies. The opening bid was $9.95. I put in a bit for more than that, not thinking I had a chance of winning the auction, and watched it for the next several days.

When it ended, I was shocked and very pleasantly surprised that no one else bid on the coins and I won them for the $9.95 opening bid. The $10.95 shipping was more than I paid for the coins.

Here is the auction link, followed by the auction photos and my photos of the four coins I received, an 1887, 1892, 1900 and 1901.

there actually quite nice condition given that they are mostly worn coins that get sold.

It appears the seller made the mistake of limiting the auction to USA mail addresses only. This would have excluded the more obvious buyers' area and prevented broader market penetration. I'm sure plenty of other bidders would have driven the price higher (including me) had it been available more broadly.

Absolute stunners. My fave is the 1892 reverse. The whole surface is (IMO) more balanced and easy on the eye.
A fantastic pick up.
