This coin was purchased from a member here - if you're familiar with the coin, please don't mention it in your grade estimation.

There's a lot to discuss with this one - I didn't really know where to put this thread. It's in a slab, has nice color, and it gave me fits trying to get everything right in the pics. Maybe that's another thread, somewhere. In any event, here are two sets of shots of the coin. The first is conventionally lit, using two 50w Halogen bulbs. The second set is lit axially, using a single 60w GE Reveal.

I welcome your grade estimates.

I am going to guess EF 40-45. This is just because of the leaf and bow detail on the reverse. I am probably way off, just a guess.

Lots of luster, light rub on breast and knee, and a few light circulation scuffs so I will call it AU55

Beautiful Original Color & very few marks. AU50 minimum, IMO.

Yeah I really think that's a beauty. I'd say AU 50-55 as well. I'd easily buy it with that grade on a 2x2 and not dicker, lets put it that way.

A very tiny AU! This coin must be imaged at about 50X!

Heh.

The image size you get when you click the posted pic is 800 pixels in diameter. I had to downsize them to post here - the originals are about 1300px.

These were a quick effort - I posted the pics about an hour after I got the coin in the mail. I'm going to take my time and see what we can do with it later, and post the results in the Photography thread. This coin was made for axial lighting, and I can't wait to get it cracked out and imaged with no plastic covering it.
