Hello Everyone,

I am very new to this addicting hobby and would appreciate some help with Identifying a possible strike through or filled die error or post mint damage.

The coin is a 1968 (P) Lincoln Memorial cent found in a penny roll from a bank.

I have added some photos, I hope the quality is good enough.

Thank you for any help! Any insight into this or general tips are appreciated.

P.S. This is my first post! It is cool to see such a helpful community.

Damaged coin. Not a mint error. (Just like a wrecked car is not a factory error)

Yes, post-strike damage of a vicious nature.

Just damage.

Tip-
An error can only occur during the actual striking of the coin in the coining press.
Anything that happens after that is considered damage. Suggest learning how
coins are minted ( there are online sites to learn from), then you would know what
to look for and could probably eliminate over 90% of the coins you are questioning as damage.

Thank you everyone for the replies. Some weird looking damage. But that is exactly why I asked. Thanks for the advice too. Back to the jar it goes.
