Hi. Thank you for welcoming me as a new member and I apologies for fumbling my first post. I have a 1920 (King George 5th) one penny that weighs 6.8 grams, all the other similar coins that I have weighed are between 9.2 g to 9.4 g and on google it said that the regular weight is of 9.45 g. Is this a mint error? Any information will really help. Thank you!

Images too dark to evaluate.

I'm more than a little concerned about the edge - it appears to be reeded. British pennies have plain, un-reeded edges.

I'm wondering if it's a hollowed out Magician's coin, with a third milled-edge coin being used as the sides of the "box".

A picture from the side might help. It looks too thick to be a penny to me.

Whatever it is, it can't be an error, there is no way for that to happen at the mint.
What is the diameter, should be 30.8 mm
Possibly a fantasy coin or play money?

Yes, it appears to have been hollowed out and turned into a container.

I remember seeing similar items on ebay, I think they were
some sort of a snuff box.

The other sides of the pennies was no doubt milled out on a lathe. Like these 'magician's' coins;

Hi, Thank you all for reading my post and commenting. I put the coin on top of a blue bottle cup (not doing that again) to make it stand out. I will make another post with a picture from the side. It has the same diameter as other similar coins and it could be a Magician's coin I just don't know.
