1909 Wheat VDB Attribution Explanation

Caddis Valued Member United States 258 Posts	Posted 02/23/2023 5:54 pm Hello, This wheat has a die crack that matches stage C in Wexler guide. Left stalk around 1. I think the designation is WDDO-001. The coin doesn't appear to have any other markers contained in stage b or stage a. Can you identify the coin as a stage C WDDO- 001 or is just a 1909 with a die crack. To be labeled with an attribution, do coins need to have all the markers in all the stages, or just some of them? I definitely don't see doubling, what I see is a die marker on the reverse in the same position noted in t wddo-001, stage C. Report this Post to the Staff

Cracks happen all the time in the same locations on many dies from many years due to stress areas in those locations.
