Need help in determining if layers missing I took picts of what it's supose to look like for identification. Weight is between 3.98 and 4.00g

Just a badly corroded quarter. If it is missing layers,
it is because they have been eaten away.

That is certainly a very distraught quarter. It did not leave the mint looking like that - just damage.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

not sure if it is an acid bath thing, after all we see all the time, a quarter that had the copper core etched away and not the cladding stating that the cladding is harder than the soft copper ant that is why the edge of a clad quarter looks like it has 2 rails for an edge. (just saying)
