Definitely doesn't look right, compared to another one, those marks aren't there. The mark on left is jagged a tad, and the marks just to the left of the mane seem to still have the normal shine. Doesn't look like scratches to me
2005-Buffalo-Nickel.-What-Is-Going-On-With-The-Reverse? working on better pics.

No idea what we're looking at. Please start with full pics of both sides of the coin.

it looks incuse and if it is, it could be just a circulation hit.
Please post up a full coin image of both sides.

There are two spots the one on the hind quarter and one to the left of the mane (fur). I compared to another 2005 Buffalo nickel and they aren't there.

The Marks left of the mane (fur) is more odd than the mark on the hind quarter. Left of the mane (fur) for this coin should be smooth. This coin is not.

I really think there are different variations to the 2005 Buffalo nickel not just the Spear.

I bet if anyone takes out a few 2005 Buffalo nickels if they didn't spend them they will see differences in some of them with the details.

Yeap, I have what I thought was the "Spear" version but it wasn't.

I'll try in morning. Tired. I'm going to try and take pics of this and 3 others to see if I can show different variations in the details of same year.
