Anyone have any idea what a sp64-65 with case 1911 specimen set would cost in this market?

You can get some recent sale prices here. Look up for each denomination and grade. I think a complete set usually goes for a bit less than individual coins. Also important to note if original case is included or not. Cases can easily run $300-$1000 depending on model and condition.

London Coin has a nice set looking set for $7950.00
The case and coins all appear to be in good shape.

There is a set that regularly gets reposted on ebay as well. In my opinion it is quite overpriced, but ultimately something is worth what someone will pay for it. It is a mix of ICCS graded 64's and 65's with a beat up case. You could look up each coins "trends" value on CaC, take about 75% of that value to give you something more realistic and add a few hundred for the case. Some will tell you that you shouldn't pay more than 50% of trends and some will tell you that some rare items are worth trends or even higher. You have to take this case by case based on what you are looking at and for, but I don't judge 1911 specimen coins to be that incredibly rare and at a mixed 64 and 65 for grades they are right in the middle for quality. The most valuable denomination is the 50 cent piece and it is a 64 so that hurts a bit.

You can likely pick up higher grade examples one at a time over the course of years for the same price they are asking. Probably the biggest reason why anyone would buy that one anywhere near that price is convenience of getting them all at once. In my opinion not worth it at all, but I understand impatience and been guilty of it myself from time to time. :)
