1964 P Kennedy Half Dollar Double Die Question

CaptJeffWorthFL Valued Member United States 247 Posts	Posted 03/07/2023 8:25 pm I cannot for the life of me find any destination or references on this particular 1964P Kennedy half. I looked at Variety Vista and Wexlers with no luck. Looked at ebay and nothing like it, looked at many other sites no luck. The condition is making it tough to see any die markers. I even suspect it may be a TDO. No sure. Let me know if you have seen this one before so I can label it properlt and put it away. Report this Post to the Staff

There was an issue with doubled dies that year: Wexler site: Quote: 1964 50¢ Pr WMDO-001 Doubled Master Die 1964 50¢ WMDO-002 Doubled Master Die 1964 50¢ WWHO-001 Doubled Working Hub 1964 50¢ WWHO-002 Doubled Working Hub 1964 50¢ WWHO-003 Doubled Working Hub So it might be one of the known ones/or one of the doubled master die/working hub issues. So you would need to save it to see what the listing might be in the future. I didn't seen an exact match on the sites. Report this Post to the Staff

atrox001 Valued Member United States 311 Posts	Posted 03/08/2023 3:33 pm I think your half dollar would be the CONECA listed 64 BS DDO-017 (3). Your photos match the DDO-017 in my collection, see attached photos. Also attached is a photo showing a couple of markers on the DDO-017, Stage A, in my collection. These markers are not on the Stages B and C. Light die scratch northwest from the R in LIBERTY, and the short die gouge under the R in LIBERTY. Report this Post to the Staff
