While the bills looked real, only a trained eye could notice the differences.

"The date within that blue band is different than that of a legit $100 bill, and the Liberty Bell within the inkwell was an indication," "When you turn the legit bill, you can see the two-tone."

These fake/counterfeit $100 bills are passing the machine test that checks for them being counterfeit.

Be aware of anybody purchasing coins from you, Purchasing notes or anything else with a $100 bill

There is a secret service website called know your money and also US currency.gov they have courses that are free. However, the new one that just came out is able to go through these machines I'm sure that they'll have to update these site soon because people are getting clever and clever every day. If I find one I will post it But it might not be any different than the current $100 bill because apparently it's the watermaek or color/ink isn't being detected by the machines allowing it to pass being authentic. If I find anything more out or a friend tells me I'll let you know

Change over to co-polymer notes.
Although they also have been counterfeited in other countries, it is much harder to do, and they are much more durable in circulation.

I've gotten where I stay away from $50 and $100. That way if I get a bad note, it's not a big deal.

No. There are miniature liberty bells and "100"s floating around, but no date.
