It's been a long time since I have been on this forum. Today I was going through junk that I have and I pulled this piece. It is very crude. Blacksmith coin maybe? I don't know what it is. A Token,. Roman coin, ship Wreck coin? Does any one on this forum know by this really bad image what it could be? I don't even know which way to turn it. Upside down upside up who known. I know it's not even worth saving!

I know these pic are as good as they will get

Viper, it appears to be either a crudely cast "something" or a "something" that was dug after being buried in an acidic environment.
But I'm no expert, so hopefully one will help us out.

@vip, that second pic reminds me of a crowned thistle. I wonder if this isn't a Scottish Bawbee from the 17th century. Even this eroded, knowing the weight and diameter would be helpful.

Charles II bawbees are frequently found in extremely worn condition, apparently because they actively circulated well into the 18th century.

(Unfortunately I don't recall offhand why this had happened. I do recall having seen the explanation on CCF somewhere...)
