Hey everyone,

I'm looking to stack some silver at these levels. I'm drawn more to government-issued bullion as opposed to silver rounds. I have narrowed it down to ASE tubes, Canadian Maple tubes, or RCM 10oz bars. I recognize these are all higher premium items, but that seems to be my preference. Curiously, the premiums on the RCM bars seem to be slightly higher than the maple coins. I'm assuming it's just because those bars are popular. Given that the premium on the bars are slightly higher, would you be more inclined to grab tubes of the maple coins over bars? My intent is long-term hold.

Here are some links:

Thanks for any thoughts!

I ended up grabbing some ASEs and RCM bars at the following prices. ASEs at $29.22 an ounce and $8.52 premium. RCM 10oz Bars at $24.59 an ounce and $3.89 premium. I'm feeling good about these price points. Hopefully we see a little more drop in the coming weeks for even better opportunities.

If your goal is stacking vs. any form of collectability, then you should look at the option that carries the lowest spread. Check across a number of vendors for consistency in spread value but generally speaking, a given dealer will offer the same value regardless of quantity when they buy your bullion. So your real cost is the premium you spend to buy over the sell price. Flatten that to a per ounce value and the lower the premium... the easier the selection.

Also stick to the main names... ASE, Canadian ML, Austrian Philharmonics etc. There are a bunch of really good looking coins out there but you are moving into collectable premium territory and you will just never recover that on a sale.

Long range you'll probably get more bang for your buck with .9999 Canadian Maple Leafs however, in the US the ASE's would be more liquid and they are legal tender in the US, whereas the Maple Leaf or RCM bars are not.

We currently stack silver rounds and bars as well as ASE's for their liquidity. I collect Maple Leafs because I like them and perhaps for their bullion down the road.

I do ASE's and 90% coins

Canadian coins are nice but in the US I think US coins are more liquid. Coin of the realm so to speak

Now if you live in Canada?
