Not sure if this is a topic already.
And not asking what you paid for it.
Just curious

That's hard to say. Our tubes of BU ASE's were pricey but, on an "each" basis, probably our collection of 1 oz Gold St. Gaudens were probably the most costly. We acquired them several years ago when the gold market was lower than it is now and the Numismatic values were lower as well. Since the popularity has grown with the '33's, the market for St. Gaudens has gone a bit wacky (in a good way).

Edited topic to coin. Single coin or token is what I'm thinking.
Here's mine

Look at my profile image.
That coin cost me the most.
It's an 1856 FE, PCGS MS-62, Snow-3.

Yes, I said MS.
It's from the days when PCGS still felt that there were non-proof 1856 FE's.

Yes dear...I knew what you were saying. I just chose not to answer that way but, a single St. Gaudens is my highest cost coin.

You have a good question though!

I'm still unconvinced that the item I paid the most for is actually a coin (by now I've accepted that it at least definitely was not what the listing said), so instead I'm posting my second most expensive purchase...

Post-Your-Coin-That-Cost-You-The-Most. Post-Your-Coin-That-Cost-You-The-Most.

Roman Empire, Galba, 68-69 AD
AR denarius (18x17 mm, 2.82 grams)
Obverse: IMP SER GALBA CAESAR AVG, laureate draped bust of Galba right
Reverse: DIVA AVGVSTA, Livia standing left holding patera and sceptre
RIC I Galba 189

I paid 4500 rubles, which was about $55 at the exchange rate at the time (February 2022, shortly after the start of the war, when dollars were expensive).
Technically there's a coin I paid closer to $70 in exchange rate for, but that was only 2000 rubles at the time (2011). And the item mentioned above was 5000 rubles and $80; apparently I do have pics of it after all. Maybe I'll post them in this thread later.

This one!
A sleeper as what I was told from my investor day, and as a collector today still a sleeper.

Mine would be $500.00 on an AG-3 1916-D Merc dime certified by PCGS with a green bean CAC sticker...

Now today that would be a hot deal as these are selling or retailing around $1,000ish or a tad more with the CAC sticker.
