My head is kind of spinning trying figure out the right designation on this 1958-D/D, I am guessing RPM-031and there are no known markers listed for it in Coppercoins. What do you think?
Thanks

It does look like it. I would say the lower serif took a hit.
It is very tough too choose one of the designations when there are so many.
Click on the: Marker Photos: MDS to see if your coin has any of the additional matching markers.
It says only Die Scratches as die markers. Nothing is easy.

I'm on the tail end of my night, so did not have time to look at all the listing, I'll revisit tomorrow. You may be right, looks pretty good but check out VV's 023 for markers.

with potentially 023. Also about the end of the night makecents said. I almost said yours had the same debris as the top picture. Glad I looked back and realized it was yours pasted to compare with VV's example. Bedtime

With limited pics to work with, I'm not sure but take a look at VV's 006, cc's 006. I did not think the mm location was good on this one at first but after taking a closer look, it's not bad. Where yours has damage, I thought this may be it. Maybe check for markers.

Thank you all,
@makecents, the die scratches on reverse of my 58 run East and West. And you are correct the mint mark on mine has taken a hit on the lower serif and does not have any of the markers of the 023 either.

Hey Chase. I tried something with one that I thought might be your RPM and think this might be it. 1958D-1MM-031. This is why I think that. When placing the lines to key points it looks like both of them line up. The only difference is the PMD your LWC has gone through. I was not sure if the PMD could have increased the split in the upper serif. Of course this is a very rough method with each MM picture at different scales, but it was a shot in the dark.

Your words are spot on Chase. I was in the basement filling the wood furnace and thought about my response, and thought I might have missed a statement about a marker on the coin that I did not pay attention to. Cause the last thing I want to do is speak without taking in what all others have presented. Especially with all the knowledge others have worked hard to obtain.

@CHASE: IMHO you are with this coin much more close with 1958D-1MM-014, if you overlap your coin with that from cooper,, fit better then 31.

I can see what silviosi is saying. There is a particular aspect of the comparison that does not match up though. The size and shape of the center of the D. Here is a side-by-side of 031-Chase-014.
I wonder if both RPMs are really the same die, but at different stages of its life? Even the flowlines seem to have matching aspects.
