I was giving these the final look before they went on ebay, and something caught my eye: Liberty (or whoever she is) looks different!

The more I looked at it, the more different they were! One had a sharp nose and a strong gaze, while the other was well... more beautiful.

I compared the eyes, the hair and the flying fold on their dresses, and I think I see that these were struck from completely different dies. Can someone confirm for me? Krause doesn't have this variety since I remember checking the prices before.

Can someone help by at least confirming that you see two different Liberties?

Not only that, the I-V on FIVE on the left one has a gap, compared to the IV on the right.

This is so exciting!

One of the coin was minted in another country (Belgium?), right now I'm not so sure which one, I'm at work and I don't have my reference books here.

Thanks for answering my question so quickly, manilagalleon! I went to ebay and found a few more of both kinds, although the "crazy eye" one is less common...

Thanks!

Those are very dramatic difference--well done for spotting that!
Is that Pinatubo in the background?

The coin on the right is KM# 189.1 and the other is KM# 189.2, They were both minted in the Philippines.

the KM# 189.1 (ugly face) was minted in Germany and the KM#189.2 was minted in England for the Philippines.
