I was reading the latest March issue of the CN Journal from the RCNA and in their article about upcoming RCM offerings they were showing a 2023 $2 fine silver tribute coin to Canada's $2 circulation coin. I queried the RCM website but did not see it listed anywhere -- at least not yet. I have not seen it mentioned on this community forum as well. Does anyone have any details on this coin? Cost? When it might be available?

I expect to see the $2 Tribute coin, as well as the others shown in the Mint's Communique, as part of the April release.

Saw a small picture of this coin today. It's a 1 oz coin, to be released in April. The price hasn't been revealed.
The design is the same as the $2 Polar Bear design, with a letter "W" on it.

I must be having a dumb moment but what is being celebrated or "tributed" on the Twoonie... It was released in 1996 so this is the 27th anniversary of the coin's initial release; an odd number to celebrate... What am I missing?

I bought the silver polar bear alone first, then after thinking about it went back and signed up for the subscription. Ended up with 2 silver polar bears. Oops..... My question is: does anybody know the schedule for the rest of the subscription yet?

The 'tribute' is NOT for the toonie but (I think) for the 25th anniversary of the 1998 issuance of the Winnipeg ("W") mintmark on the "Oh! Canada" uncirculated set. Of course, that reasoning would only apply to any "W" coins released THIS YEAR. Winnipeg mint-marks were also used in 2000 and 2003 releases

I received the Loon a few weeks ago, and the case arrived last week. Not too bad looking. Plain and simple - 6 holders for the capsules and space underneath for the certificates. (I just put them on top for the photo)

I got a second Loony in the mail I didn't expect. It's currently on it's way back to the RCM so I can get my $100 back. I haven't got the box yet. Also, the first coin I got came in a typical RCM 'jewelry' box, and the extra one just came in a vinyl wrapped package.

atticguy, I did the same thing, again, with the Loonie. I received the purchased Loonie fairly quickly, but the subscription that I have had since last year went to pending Sep 8th and as of tonight they have mine back ordered with shipment Nov 3rd. I am finding the ordering service from RCM horribly bad, in general.
