With the amount of circulation wear visible elsewhere on this coin, my best guess is damage plus Pareidolia. Reno911 Valued Member United States 316 Posts	Posted 03/26/2023 6:33 pm Spencer you were correct partially about the Illusion. But the illusion only is for the head of the snake. When magnified you can actually see that there's some kind of ding I'll call it more machine mark just slightly on hitting what looks like the head. Sadly I'm not able to capture it without it being blurry. The Squiggly line is actually raised above the coin planchet . I think something may have gotten on it . You terribly sorry about the photos. Here is a thought, try using your device (hope it is a scope) and capturing the image at night in a room without incoming light. Now you have a baseline to work from with your device.
