Is this a Dryer Coin or PMD? I have tried to give it to the bank 2 times and I keep getting it back. It won't even go through the change machine.

I'm thinking it is. I think they're cool--specially in the late stage.

I apologize I do not know how to reply to your response only.

Good call! The sides are totally smooth. Now I just need to figure out what a spooned quarter is. Ha ha... at least I am learning for sure!

Would a spooned coin alter the images like this?

Thank you all for the comments. I know either way it is PMD and apparently it is not even worth 25 cents because the bank gave it back to me & & & guess I will keep it with my other junk PMD coins

Kelly, "spooning" a coin refers to using a spoon as a hammer and tapping the coin around the edges to flatten them. After many many hours the rim will mushroomed out. It's one mechanism by which coins were shaped into rings. Here's a 1945 Philippines 50 centavos that is either a Dryer Coin or has been spooned.
