Hi guys and girls I've got this 2000 Wide AM cent and have put it on ebay for a tenner starting bid, do you think that's too low or about right? I've no idea what it's actually worth so I'll ask the experts here on ccf, cheers in advance, respect Alun

That is indeed a WAM. Nice looking coin.

I assume your tenner means UK Pounds - I suggest if it's a true auction then your coin will hammer for more than that.

The 2000 Wide AM is the most common of the three (98,99,00). Circulated 10-15, Uncirculated 35-50 US dollars according to Strike it rich book. This coin sells for about $5 in the lowest condition and up to thousands of dollars in very high mint state condition according to PCGS. I think once you have a mint state it can far exceed the 50 and should check recent selling prices to gauge. Maybe list at $50 US?
Definately looks better than the AU examples on PCGS https://www.PCGS.com/coinfacts/coin...-am-bn/83158 more like the red mint states https://www.PCGS.com/coinfacts/coin...-am-rd/83160

I'm so lucky, I've also got a 1998 WAM here at home. Would that be more pricey than this 2000 in about the same condition seems how the 98 is rarer? ,cheers ,Alun

Yes - Circulated 75-125, uncirculated 175-375. About 2,500 found and again higher graded examples can sell for much more, these are typical pocket change type find conditions rather than top mint roll finds. If you want to gauge a grade there is a grading section where you can post 1 coin per thread to gauge opinions from the community but ultimately its the grading company that will give a final grade. The other good news is that this can be seen without grading and so unless its in a higher mint state where grading is a good option, it can be sold without grading as well for those values.

OK datadragon I'm going to bang my 1998 WAM on ebay for bidding starting price of 50 UK pounds based on what you have said, I'm sure reading through your post that you have a well rounded numismatic knowledge and once again thank you for your time in replying to my topic!. Respect Alun
