Quote: Rare!? That means valuable. Hmm not sure I agree with that in all cases. Ancient Indian coins seem to have been on a bit of a tear in the past few years, but I'm not sure that this is uniform. You might try acsearch or another auction aggregating website for recent sales figures.

As noted above, it purports to a Kushan coin depicting Sakymuni Buddha. Since it is a rare and desirable type, I'm a bit suspicious. It's not the kind of thing you'd expect to appear in a "what's this?" post. It must have passed through a number hands between Central Asia and Romania. Odd that no one picked up on such a rarity. It needs to be examined in hand by an expert. If authentic, congratulations!

Thank you all! Friend Kushanshah,ha,ha,ha! You are right but what you don't know is that I am not the owner of this coin which belongs exactly to a fellow indian guy who asked me to help him to ID his coin. He knows almost nothing about coins that is why he appealed to me... Now, what do you say, please? The coin may be genuine?

Genuine or not, I would expect it to have originated in the Afghanistan/ Pakistan/ northern India region. It looks good at a glance but there is only so much confidence one can have in authentication by photo, especially with something so desirable. As I said before, it needs to be inspected in hand by an expert. For comparison: https://cngcoins.com/Search.aspx?IS...10000&PAGE=1

Hi,tdzemia! I asked him more info about this coin and he confessed that he wanted to know more about it because he wants to buy it from an indian seller and he wished to know how much he may pay for it, been correctly evaluated... So, you see: not mine, not his...up to now. Regards!
