Hi everyone

I was wondering how much an off-centre strike diminishes the value of this coin. These coins tend to be rather expensive and I thought this was a great way to buy one cheaper than usual. Feel free to tell me how much you guys think this coin is worth :)

If there are any doubts thats this coin is a fake let me know :)

Thanks in advance!
Have a wonderful day!

Low grade, porous, off center coins will be cheaper than higher grade well centered coins. Generally the highest grade coins have appreciated more over time. You could check sold auction prices of places like sixbid, biddr to see what these are going for. It's common for ancient coins to be off center. But when they're off center on the main design, face, then they become less attractive to the eye. The Athens tetradrachm coins are very popular. The examples with Athena's nose missing, off the flan, sell for less than than full face ones. Those showing the full crest are worth a lot more than partial crest, etc. In the future you could save your money, wait to buy coins that are not that much off center, especially the face, just my opinion.

It looks genuine, but that off-centre strike is unfortunate and in my view greatly reduces the attractiveness of the coin, and its value. It is difficult to say how much it reduces its value, but in my opinion an absolute max price is 400 €, and preferably less.

thanks for the replies!
When I looked I found prices for a good looking coin starting at around 450 euro or more. Since this one is about 60% of that price I thought it might be a decent buy because of the condition. My funds are still limited so I thought this could be a valid budget option :)

Feel free to give your opinion ;)
