typical for anyone getting started in this hobby and even after years of collecting and grading. you are not alone. staying plugged in here will help you quite a bit. look at other coins posted and the comments/assessments which will add to your knowledge base. I dont think anyone ever gets to a point where they know all the coin series and their nuances in grading them
I'm also at AU55. nice coin. I think with a little better eye appeal (blotchy surfaces) and luster the coin could have made a 58 grade. also note the weakly struck area from K7-K9 on the reverse. K represents the hands on the clock. strike also plays a role in the grade
