This was a recent cherrypick, and also recently in an ANACS slab. I do not know how they arrived at the grade, but it was sitting at AU 50. Now I can see it going AU, but 50? That's generally a pretty ugly coin, which this is not. So I cracked it out as I think that grade on the slab, as well as the RPM not being on there, was not the right answer for what is overall a quite nice coin. 1925-S/S Lincoln Wheat cent - RPM-001, FS-501

It is clear Keith the CONECA: RPM #1, Cherrypickers: FS-01-1925S-501 (013.31), Crawford: CRPM-001, Coppercoins: 1925S-1MM-001, WRPM-001. If you send to PCGS sure you have better. I have a junk and it is 45. For me was an AV- G4 and give 45. I thanks for mistake, I sell, more pocket moneys.

Very nice, early stage, example of that RPM. I'm horrible at grading but would think that it will go higher.

Thanks all! The coin has a lot going for it both in condition and die state so just confused at why ANACS put that grade on it. But it's out of that holder now so past history now. It's probably a break even proposition given how expensive PCGS is but I'm going to throw it in my next submission and see what they put on it.
And yes, Keith12, I am another Keith!

Nice looking coin. Congrats, TB Keith. I've heard that ANACS has been grading a little conservatively compared to other services. I wonder if the old crease/scratch on the shoulder affected the grade. Maybe they gave it a low AU instead of details? All the best at PCGS. It should do fine.

Sorry TROP, to write Keith. My mistake. Sorry. Anyways one day you will be on the FLAME, so everyone will know your name. ANACS it is, as was conservative, but I find the bests on varieties. PCGS varieties cost more. First cost VVS if not PCGS do not recognize and then send them to recognize. You will have better grade, but both certification will balance? Sometime yes. Example: I had a gold 1900 5 S MS 63 ANACS with double Die Clash and DDO. I send to PCGS for regrading and come 65 and they has no choice and recognize the variety. I was comfortable with ANACS, but I has to trade the coin so the trader loose. YEP.

I don't mind anyone using my name here as I don't have issues with that. I just use tropicalbats for all things internet including my website as that name has been associated with me for at least 20 years now and a lot of folks know it.
