I was given this in change by my local coin store and told it was an uncirculated quarter. I have never held an uncirculated quarter before, the edges are quite textured. How would you guys grade this? Is it really uncirculated? It certainly looks nice to me!

I'll say MS-63, perhaps 64.

Looks uncirculated to me, nice piece of change.
Is it toned that colour or is it silver?

@JimmyD it is silver looking but the way my camera took the photo (and the room had softer yellow lightong) distorted thr color a bit.

Yes, white balance is a bit skewed. Nice coin--perhaps MS62-63.

yellow tint is obstructing luster on the coin. amount of luster remaining will affect grade.

btw - edges have no affect on grade unless there are issues such as a dented rim.

FYI - MS and Uncirculated are two different things although today they are used almost interchangeably however and uncirculated coin cannot be found in circulated thus the term uncirculated. typically that term is not used much today. a coin can still be MS and be found in circulation as MS (mint state) refers to the state of the coin as it relates to how it left the mint.

since we cant actually see the luster on the coin and the yellow tone may be hiding any signs of circulation your coin could be AU55/58 or MS63. looking the fields the dull areas on the left and right side of the obverse as well as the tops of the wings appear to have circulation rub so I'm inclined to go with AU
