I've got this 1965 Lincoln Cent. Not necessarily in mint condition but not bad for its age. While looking at it I noticed what I would think to be a double due error on the reverse on the first pillar on the memorial and two other spots between the pillars through out the memorial and I'll point them out in the pictures. My questions are, is it a true double die? I seem to always get excited only to find it be Machine Doubling. And Are there any known DDR errors on the 1965? Thank you in advance.
There are false columns on the design of the memorial building to give the appearance of columns behind the columns and the wall on the center areas of the columns: It gives a 3-D affect.
Thank y'all for responding after looking at the pictures y'all shared I realized that exactly what it was. I'm seeing it in most of the older cents. In the newer ones it doesn't seem like it's as noticeable. Thank y'all again for taking the time to explain that.
