Seeing very little Canadian content available through Heritage lately, and what is offered is selling for really decent amounts (same for ebay).

As a result of that, and life changes I have been thinking more and more about selling off my colonial token collection and curious if I were to sell via Heritage etc if I am better off getting everything graded ahead of time? Or will the auction house take care of that? Of the 100 or so tokens about 50 would be worthy of a slab (personally I hate plastic).

Don't have time to sell individually online, and guessing a dealer is going to give me pennies on the dollar (or in my case pennies on half pennies!)

Regarding Heritage, have any of you sold through them? Or might know how long from the start of these process to getting paid? Any pitfalls to look out for?

Wade, have you considered offering them here on the Forum?

The auction house will happily take care of grading for you, they would likely deduct the cost of grading from the proceeds of the sale once it's all said and done. Keep in mind though, your coins will be at PCGS for at least a couple of months before they're done, and then you have the issue of what sale to consign it through with heritage. It's not rare with heritage to end up waiting months for an auction to be available that your items would fit into. If your collection is big enough, it might be worth making it its own weekly sale, in which case you'd wait less time.. Definitely something to reach out to them about. I've had nice coins that would perform best in particular sales that they hold at certain times of the year, and it's led to me waiting a few months before my coin goes live, and then the 45 days after the sale waiting for my settlement.

Are you fairly close to a larger metro area with large coin shows/auctions combined?

First, let me say this is a good topic post for sure.

Should you have tokens like the new poster showed I know I'm interested and maybe a few others. You should post on here like HondoBoguss mentioned.
