@Dearborn ...when you used the words "step like" you could you have used the word "hits" or "hit", correct? I've not heard the "Step Like" before. I'm just curious. Thanks Reno

Reno to me when you use the words hit or hits you are talking about circulation damage of some kind. MD is something that happens when the coin is struck at the mint.

Quote: @Dearborn ...when you used the words "step like" you could you have used the word "hits" or "hit", correct? No, I mean just like little steps (small staircase) they are 'like steps' from the field to the top of the device.

Note that Machine Doubling reduces the size of a normal set of devices: Your coin was being altered with a push upwards. This example has a push in a downwards direction, make the devices even smaller than the normal die example. A doubled die will show enlarged height/width or notched devices: Doubled dies show spread on the devices _AAD.jpg) _AAD.jpg) _AAD.jpg) A doubled die will show the same spread on each strike. Machine Doubling can be different on each strike or the same. But MD is never a doubled die. It can happen on a doubled die, but the MD is never part of the hub doubling. Only a doubled die can strike a doubled die coin.
