Came across this 1983 Philadelphia mint cent and the first thing that caught my eye was the designer initials on the reverse. It appears that there are two very distinct "FG"s. I looked up Wexler's Doubled Die Listings thinking I might find a
DDR variety that matches my coin but then I found that this coin has all of the die markers for Wexler's 1983 DDO-005 variety.
These are my observations:
-Apparent doubled "FG" initials on reverse
-Die crack from bottom right cornice to rim on reverse
-Strong die gouge between right corner of bust and rim at ~5:00
-Die scratch inside "C" of AMERICA on reverse
-Possible doubled earlobe and nostril ?
-Overall spread of letters on reverse
What are all of your thoughts?
