This is the first shield sent that I have seen that looks like an older copper penny to me. It is a 2019 D and weighs 2.6 g. What do you guys think?

There is a copper coat over zinc and copper will turn different colors in different environments. This color is normal.

a well toned cent. the copper plating can tone just like full copper coins if in the right environment.

Copper-alloy cents weigh usually 3.1 grams although there is some tolerance variance, and the copper-plated zinc cents weigh close to 2.5 grams. Generally coins can pop up with the wrong planchet around the time of changes such as 1982 here but I guess is possible to be later as a 1989-d was found as well, but not decades later. https://www.numismaticnews.net/worl...copper-found

One of the reasons why its suggested to pick up kens book strike it rich with pocket change 5th edition is because it might help you to search for known coins for awhile or at least those theorized to exist, rather than looking for unicorns that might pop up once in a lifetime like a 2019 on a 1982 planchet instead of environmental toning as what it really is.
