NGC graded it as Good Details Cleaned. Coin hammered at $225 a few months back at GreatCollections which was almost my max bid - had some trepidation until it arrived then I said "sweet". Beats my original AG-3 example across the head but... the dang things detailed! Chalked this one up as a " you gotta hold out" lesson.

I was even thinking VG08 until I saw your response. It's very close between a G06 and low VG08. Lesson learned, unfortunately. Maybe PCGS would go with the VG08? Maybe that's was GC was thinking too?

Interesting. Looking at it again, the reverse looks more cleaned than obverse. I think it could stand a chance at straight grading on a crackout

I tried the crackout gamble on two cleaned PCGS Barbers and 2 dipped PCG Barbers and results were ANACS 4 and me a fat zero LOL. Am hanging on to it in the details holder as a reminder to hold out for those goldilocks 92-O's that pop up 2-3 × a year with DL or GC.

i can see why they detailed the coin but was hoping due to the lower grade that they would let it slide

I am waiting for a 92-O to pop up in fine condition. There was one at GC in December, but it went past my funds available at the time. Could be awhile before the next one shows up.
