Hey everyone was doing some after-work penny hunting and found a 1987 Denver penny with a weird line through In God We Trust and what looks to be some possible doubling on the reverse with a weight of 2.5 grams. Help would be appreciated sorry for the phone pictures I seem to have misplaced my microscope card adaptor in my recent move.

Pictures are fine, actually better than the super magnified microscope pictures we often see here. The obverse shows a Ridge Ring, this is the result of a heavily used die that is beginning to fail. The doubling on the reverse appears to be a mixture of Die Deterioration and some split copper plating.

Just a worn die and some split plating.

Ridge rings are extremely common on Zincoln cents, especially those from 1984-1991.

Both issues are commonly found on Zincolns.
