Hey everyone,

I came across this penny today and I'm not sure if this was a die error or if the coin was damaged after minting.

Thanks for any input.

Thanks Spence. I thought that was the case, but the fact that the details weren't really messed up made me wonder.

One good way to tell is that the rim has been interrupted. I don't see how this can happen during the minting process.

Interestingly, it looks like these circles are pretty much matching from obverse to reverse.

Yea it almost looks like someone tried to use a hole punch on it. I'm keeping it anyway as something interesting!
