Edit - The OP original question was if the 5 is some sort of overdate. To put things into context, below was my response to the original question.

Nope - it just took a circulation hit that displaced some metal.

Your close up photos are much improved.

Edit - I responded to your question on value, and it appears you edited it away. Anyways - here was my response:

Average circulated Wheat cent common date coins - such as you have here - are worth about 3 cents each.

Tough to sell as individual coins since there is so little demand. If you had a thousand or so in bulk form you might get that if you paid for shipping.

Bottom line is they are not worth much unless in much higher grade or contain a desirable variety.

Common, well-circulated, mid-40s wheat cents can run between 5-15 cents 'retail' each. If you get the chance, stop in at a coin shop someday and ask if they have a tray or two of common wheats--and check their prices. Can do the same at a coin show.

On the other hand, if you're trying to sell them, good luck.

Your images are getting much better, your close up images, I presume from a microscope are great - BUT pleas don't just take a picture of the scope monitor. your camera will also get all the little pixels that the scope monitor has, thus giving us a grainy, pixelated image to look at.
Pictures of a picture of a coin is not desirable.
Also you have been here for sometime now, I think you should start to try and research your coins too.

As for the cent presented above - It is worth around 3 cents or so (being a Wheat cent) I think that you can go to ebay and search out the sold listings for cent coins that look like yours to get an idea of what folks are willing to pay for them.
