Hello again everyone found this guy in my pocket change and wanted to get a few opinions on it. It looks to me like Lincoln may have an extra chin or two and there is an out line going around his head, one 4 is filled and liberty is missing a few letters. On the reverse there is something strange about the edges it looks like there are extra letters around the end of pluribus and beginning of p punum. Thanks for looking and all comments are appreciated thanks. 1944-D-Penny-Error-Obverse-And-Reverse 1944-D-Penny-Error-Obverse-And-Reverse 1944-D-Penny-Error-Obverse-And-Reverse 1944-D-Penny-Error-Obverse-And-Reverse 1944-D-Penny-Error-Obverse-And-Reverse 1944-D-Penny-Error-Obverse-And-Reverse

An accurate weight should tell us more. At first glance, it appears the coin may have spent a little time in an acidic environment.

Behind the profile, maybe some polishing lines. but otherwise, this coin had been damages by acid or something similar.

Reverse at K1 looks like a vise impression.

Without a doubt, as others have mentioned, the coin has been damaged in many ways. However, one thing that hasn't been mentioned, are the very noticeable additional curved lines behind Lincoln's portrait. I believe these are a result of a specific form of Die Deterioration known as "Design Berms". Other than that, which is considered a "die event" that did occur at the mint during the strike of this coin, I personally do not see any other mint errors on this coin.

Possibly consider that this coin was heavily brushed or in coin terms whizzed. Here is a Lincoln that I heavily whizzed as an experiment. It gives a similar grain look to the coin and the profile of the design is moved into the field.

Naw, no worries, Mate. It happens. If you didn't miss it, I would not know the name for this.. so Thanks!!

My memory is just not the same as it used to be, before I suffered a TBI.
