First set of pictures are the seller's images. The second set are my lousy pictures taken in direct sunlight that seem to overexaggerate minor abrasions. Overall, I believe it is very clean for a double eagle. I do have a minor concern that the lines between the 4 of the date and the second star to the right could cause a details grade. I think it is more of cabinet friction as they are not easily seen. It was part of an auction of an old-time collection that had 140+ double eagles!

The luster is diminished enough that it might go AU+. It needs to go over MS62 for much of a premium over melt and it doesn't look Choice Mint State in these images. It does look genuine which is the main thing imo.

Soft pics make it difficult to evaluate surface details.

I'm not great at grading gold coins, but I'll go with AU-58.
