UPS delivered my UHR today, order confirmed 8 minutes after they went on sale.

There's a black spot right under the rim between the ER in AMERICA.

I'm not pleased, I wonder how long a replacement will take?

The mint will not be pleased, I've already sent back the Presidential proofs because of spots. I think I'm going to get a bad rep.

Nice presentation box though, very slick and BIG

Send a letter with your coin and point out that this coin has a spot on it and that it was not noticed by your quality control.

I got my UHR yesterday but have not opened the shipping box yet. I am still contemplating whether to leave it in there for years and years for my children or open it up. HMMMMM?

I think this is the third or fourth complaint about this coin since it has started being delivered out. Surprising to me but I guess not to some.

I also had a very large black spot on mine(see post). Sent it back Priority mail last Tuesday, got confirmation from the mint that it was received yesterday and refunded. When I check my order status it shows the refund and under that shows a new coin as in stock and reserved. As far as how soon it will ship though is anybody's guess. Before I sent it back I spoke with them and could not get any time frame on the replacement. It's really a shame that their sending coins out like this. I would sent it back though.

Last time I had to return a coin the mint refunded me my shipping cost. I just had to call them and give them the amount. I forgot to ask the woman I spoke to about this again, but I did recall reading on the mints website that s/h would not be refunded anymore. I'll have to check on that again. I'll let you know if the mint charges me again once they ship the new coin. So far status is still reserved and in stock.
