I have some proof sets spanning from the late sixties up to last year. Some of the coins in my proof sets are upside down. Is it possible to open the sets to reposition the coins without wrecking the cases? -PP

Some cases will open. Check the side edges for slots. Use slots to open. Hope this helps.

I too collect proof sets, 54- date and would not break the set open and risk not sealing it back the way it is,or scratching any coins in the process, some do open, don't do it....

I would not open them to re-align them. There is a chance the coins my get scratched in the process of opening them....

Personally, I would open them up and move them to albums!

Seriously, if your goal is to keep them intact as sets, then do not open them!
While most are very easy to open, many times they do not snap back together properly.

After 1999 the sets are not sealed and will open fairly easily. cases before that time are usually at least partially sealed (or at least they are supposed to be) and they usually can't be opened without showing evidence of it.
