Curious Mini-Punch Mark On Hong Kong H 20c 1890

David Graham Pillar of the Community Australia 1610 Posts	Posted 05/12/2023 03:10 am Hi all, I recently got an 1890 Hong Kong 20c and while looking for a mint mark I observed a small punch mark that is like the letter E. I'm certain it's a merchant punch test to ensure that it is genuine silver instead of plated counterfeit. If you rotate you picture almost 180 degrees, this punch looks a bit like the Chinese character "ren", meaning benevolence.
