Hi, can you explain to me the reason for this gray in the cent with doubling on the letters and on the face as seen in the photos, with gray shading all over the coin? I point out that it is not oxidation. The diameter is 19mm, the weight is 2 ,46g.

It looks like some strange zinc plating issue causing a lot of the gray areas and appearance of doubling. Zinc coming through copper and corroding some. Others should weigh in.

Yes to me this looks like split plate doubling on TRUST and perhaps Abe's portrait.

agree on split plating, but the gray coloring is something we have seen here a few times, I think it was determined to be some sort of plating issue.

Hi. I add more photos about the coin where there are some doubling points, and it also has a smaller thick edge. Someone also pointed out to me that this doubling of the gray on the date and letters says that it is very rare to see .What do you think about it?
