I'm no experienced grader, but I see a good bit of Longacre doubling on the Obverse, especially on "America." Been reading and researching a lot about that lately. Unfortunately, that doesn't add any value, but it's interesting and possibly indicates an early die state. I'll leave the grading and the cleaned/not cleaned judging to my more experienced compatriots. Personally, I like the 3 cent nickels, what an odd denomination.

I really struggle with these because the dies and striking were so bad at times that it's hard to tell wear from strike/die problems.

I would guess somewhere around AU55, though, but that's just a guess.

$77 is Greysheet price (mid-AU) so you did well.
Not often can you get a coin for Greysheet.
And all the ribs are there on the III.
So much the better.
