Not sure what error this might be on 1986 silver dollar - on Liberty's head and on the T and Y.

To my eyes, it looks like damage rather than errors. It likely happened after the coin left the Mint - often referred to as Post-Mint Damage or PMD.

Thanks for the note commens. I agree it looks like PMD, it's the hit on the T that threw me though, the head hit was interesting too.

Above the E - could be a small die crack.

Are they 2's counter stamped onto the stem of the T and Y? A forward one on the T and a reverse one on the Y.
And it looks like the head took a hit and was flattened out.
Yes, it does appear to be a die crack above the E

Can you give us 2 more images? one each ot the T and Y a close up if possible, and try to orient the letters so they appear up right.

Thanks for the extra images, I'm not sure what to make of these marks either. Damage for sure, but they do look like the number 2.

I found this piece on ebay that has similar markings on the T and the Y but also has a strike thru mark.

With the updated images, it now looks like the coin was subject to multiple counterstamps - all received after it left the Mint, however. Still not a Mint error!

In my book these marks are just damage and not strike through grease like you found on the ebay listing. I'll stick by my counter Stamped estimate.
