i have found a Standing Liberty quarter that only has one face. is this legit and worth looking into.

Yes purposefully smoothed down, perhaps with the intention of making a love token. I suspect that this is well below mint specs for weight.

It's supposed to weigh 6.25, so it's lost 16.5%. A thought I had is that it was done to fool a vending machine, but that seems like a lot of work for not much, and I'm not sure if those early machines could detect weight or thickness anyway.
