I hope everyone had a safe holiday and remembered to say "Thanks!" in some fashion to those that made the ultimate sacrifice.! Collecting history one coin or medal at a time! (c) commems. All rights reserved.

John,
I am seeing there is a Veteran's Day, To Honor the Living, Who once served, Memorial Day to Honor those who Died in service to Our Nation, Armed Forces Day, Honors those who are serving in the Services.
I Apologize for Posting on Your Post. I Remember the Difference......
My Father served in the USMC , Volunteered on His 21st Birthday, Infantry, Korea, 1951-53, Re-Enlisted in 1965, U S Navy, .
My Younger ( little ) Brother, Served in the U S Navy Too, They are Deceased, They did NOT pass while Serving, I Always treated Days like Memorial Day to Honor, Once Again, Those in My Family Who have Served and are Not Living........... Again, I Recognize the Loss of a Loved One, My Friend...

I also like to remember the "Gold Star" families - surviving family of those who perished serving their country. When a son, daughter, wife, husband, father or mother loses a loved one, a part of them dies along with the fallen.
I am happy to see this recognized more and more on Memorial Day. Some of the stories are heartbreaking.
