Hi I'm new here... and I wanted to share my latest find!

2009 D Presidency Penny 1¢
I really like it, it was like 4AM and I was going trough my Penny Pile and the reverse was point up!
I have never seen one of these in person until Memorial Day! I was scanning pennies!

Maybe I'm a little dork but I went like this !

Look-What-I-Found-In-My-Penny-Pile.-On-Memorial-Day!
Look-What-I-Found-In-My-Penny-Pile.-On-Memorial-Day!

Hope I did not break any rules!

If you can provide me any details, about it, I would appreciate. I scanned two of my books and what I know about it is that its similar composition of the 1909 penny, and was a transitional coin. The "penny dead year" is what I call it.

Thank you for looking!

~ Joni

John1 Thank you for specifying the weight properties! My next Step is to get myself a scale and magnifier

I'm certain people can discern the composition from looking at the photos... I'm still learning!

It just really got me excited.

@cara, first welcome to CCF. Second, it seems like one of your questions is about the rotation between the front and back of the coin. If that is the case, then please take a photo of this coin with a mirror behind it so that we can see both sides in the one picture. Then just add it to this thread. Thx.

John is very correct. 4 different designs, 2 different metal compositions - 8 coins to find..
Yes, getting a scale would be a GREAT investment as we ask for the weight of a coin all the time.
Just make sure you get one that measures out to 2 decimal points.

Back in its little case it goes...

@Dearborn Any suggestions for scale?
I'm sure there are plenty of resources, but I would like expert advice

I want to get one of those USB Microscopes, I had one before but gave it to Dad :)
