Could this pull a 68
Grading with a scope doesn't show that there is some bullseye toning with the coin somewhat golden around the edges

i never liked nor got used to the look of these. I think they are ugly other than that the obv has couple issues. looks like a scuff at K3 obv and field discoloration in the left field (disclaimer - this could be toning but I cant tell). nicely struck and top end reverse on this one.

if the scuff and left field are toning related then maybe 67RD but i'd call it 66RD. the reverse is solid 67RD so it comes down to what that obv looks like in hand. even at 67 the coin is not a viable candidate for slabbing

I have been trying to find one without water spots , with a full strike'' but when I search the PCGS website for a comparison this is what is given to. me. I am sure you guys are correct in your observation. Personally the toned ms-68+ (first one) is not what I prefer. The ms-68 (second one) has steps that are incomplete. both coins have water spots . The coin I pictured has a few water spots and discolorization. but is in fact darker gold toning. Coinfrog and Paul both of you have been there helping me along my whole journey, much appreciated! These Zincolns have turned out to be much tougher to grade than I thought they would be. I will keep looking

metal composition stinks. they just look unnatural to me but I can see why you are in pursuit of a high end example. they are not easy to find

It's hard to me to grade above 66 with pictures. This coin looks to be at least 66.

I think the discoloration on the obverse and the hit to the right of "UNITED" on the reverse will hold it back from a MS68, however it's still a very nice example for being a 2005 cent.

I'm thinking MS66+. Nice example.
