Since broad struck coins are made without the collar, they almost always are larger in diameter than a normal coin. Dearborn Moderator United States 95740 Posts	Posted 06/01/2023 12:53 pm If it were a broadstrike, the coin would be enlarged all the way around, and be much larger than as normal coin of the same type. This is because the collar that is supposed to hold the coin did not deploy properly or at all and the metal can expand beyond the intended size. Collecting since 1972. This coin also shows impingement at K:1 where the metal struck something else in the press as it spread outside of the diameter of the collar.
