Did you see the "S" imprint that is on the inside O on the second image? You would not consider that an error?

Pareidolia. Otherwise, please explain how an S could be inserted into the O of DOLLAR. The only possibility would be a dropped S from PLURIBUS, but that S would be too large to fit in the O.
But judging by all of the other environmental damage to this coin, it's probably just coincidental damage that resembles an S - hence Pareidolia.
